Welcome to Civil and Human Rights Law for Disabled People (LSJ/CHID/DIS ST 434). Below you will find the link to the syllabus which we will review on the first day of class, September 26, 2019. Although I don't anticipate any changes to the assignments, we may have changes in the agenda depending on new legal issues and/or events that occur during the quarter. If the schedule changes in any way I will be sure to send an announcement through canvas with plenty of notice.
To find the schedule and reading assignments, use the PAGES link on the left menu. The reading and schedule for the first two weeks will not change but there may be changes as we get going. A summary of class meetings and the first few assignments are in the Course Summary below.
The following URL will link you to a valuable "Research Guide" that was created by our former Disability Studies Librarian (Kari Anderson). It will be particularly useful for you when you begin your Comparative Law project. The current Disability Studies librarian, Matthew Parsons, is available to meet individually or with small groups if you would like some help finding sources, etc. His office is in Suzzallo; email at parsonsm@uw.edu or phone 206-543-2725. I highly encourage you to take advantage of his help. The Guide is below.
