Donations to the CHID program help our students study abroad, pursue their own research, and attend conferences, as well as support program initiatives and ensure CHID’s ongoing development. The following awards and grants are some specific ways in which CHID distributes gifted funds:
- Research awards for current CHID majors to cover expenses for equipment, special projects, or research-related travel.
- Funds to assist students with study abroad-related travel costs.
- Reimbursement for graduate school entrance exams, which is valuable support for students and recent graduates considering that GRE fees start at $160.
In addition to these individual student awards, donations fund CHID's quarterly senior thesis presentations; our end-of-year celebration for graduating seniors; our quarterly potlucks for students, staff, and faculty; and, of course, CHID graduation. All of these events, which are so fundamental to the creation and maintenance of the CHID learning community, are possible only because of the financial support from our friends and alumni. We couldn’t do this without you!
Please consider supporting the CHID program by donating to one or more of the funds listed below. (If you wish to support the Colin Wang Memorial Scholarship or Emerging Scholars Award, please donate to the Friends of CHID Fund and include a note indicating the name of the scholarship/award for which you want your gift to be used.)
