Propose a Focus Group

Focus groups provide a unique opportunity for undergraduate students to design and lead a class. Focus groups allow students with common interests - which may not be covered elsewhere in the UW undergraduate curricula - to collaborate.

Focus Groups often begin when a couple of students want to do reading on a particular topic, and discuss ideas with others who share this interest. These are 2-credit courses graded credit/no credit.

Students must have a faculty advisor that will work in collaboration with them to create a syllabus and be a resource to the student throughout the quarter. Advisors are NOT responsible for the grading of the class. It would be ideal if the advisors could visit the focus group at times throughout the quarter but they are not required to do so.

Complete the form to propose a Focus Group for an upcoming quarter. You will be contacted once the proposal is reviewed. You must be logged in to use the form. Log in here.
