WHITE SUPREMACY CULTURE ___ IN THIS CLASS, STUDENTS WILL EXPLOR WHITE SUPREMACY FROM A VARIETY OF ANGLES, ROOTING US IN AN UNDERSTANDING OF WHITE SUPREMACY AS BOTH A FUNDAMENTAL, SYSTEMIC COMPONENT OF AMERICAN CULTURE AND A SOMETHING THAT INDIVIDUAL PEOPLE CA BE RADICALIZED INTO AND DERADICALIZED AWAY FROM. WE WILL CONSIDER THE RELATIONSHIP BETWEEN WHITE SUPREMACY AND OTHER FORMS OF OPPRESSION, SUCH AS ANTI-LGBTQ BIAS XENOPHOBIA, AND WEIGHT STIGMA, AND LEARN TO RECOGNIZE HATEFUL SPEECH I BOTH ITS IMPLICIT AND EXPLICIT FORMS.

Investigates the theoretical and practical problems of interpretation and knowledge production in a topic chosen by the instructor. Primarily for majors. Prerequisite: CHID 101.
