"WRITING THE WORLD: THE DIGITAL &
OTHERWISE"
THIS COURSE BEGINS WITH THE PREMISE
THAT THE "DIGITAL" IS SITUATED IN
ONGOING SETTLER-COLONIALISM AND
RACIAL CAPITALISM. THIS COURSE ASKS
HOW THE "DIGITAL" SHAPES WHAT WE
KNOW ABOUT THE WORLD, INCLUDING ITS
HUMAN-ENVIRONMENT INTERACTIONS AND
IMPACTS ACROSS TIME AND SPACE. IN
EXPLORING THIS QUESTION, THIS
COURSE FOREGROUNDS BLACK &
INDIGENOUS MODES OF WRITING THE
WORLD THROUGH DIGITAL MEDIUMS. FROM
LEARNING THE CRAFT OF COUNTER-
MAPPING AS AN 'EARTH WRITING'
PRACTICE THAT CHARTS HISTORIES AND
LIBERATORY GEOGRAPHIES, TO
EXPLORING THE #LANDBACK AND
