THIS COURSE IS DESIGNED TO EXPLORE
HOW RACE HAS IMPACTED EDUCATIONAL,
ECONOMIC, AND SOCIAL OUTCOMES OF
COMMUNITIES OF COLOR. AS WELL AS
EXAMINE HOW THESE COMMUNITIES USE
EDUCATION AS A TOOL TO RESIST
STRUCTURAL INEQUALITIES. THE
GREATER GOAL OF THIS CLASS IS TO
HELP CONTEXTUALIZE AND PROVIDE A
COUNTER-NARRATIVE OF THE IMPACT OF
PEOPLE ON THE CALLS FOR SOCIAL
JUSTICE AND EQUALITY IN URBAN
AMERICA.
