THE WITCH (AH, W) ___ THE WITCH IS A COURSE THAT ASKS STUDENTS TO NOT ONLY LISTEN IN ON BUT PARTAKE IN ADVANCED RESEARCH RELATED TO THE HISTORY OF WITCHES, WITCHCRAFT, AND THE WITCH TRIALS ACROSS THE GLOBE. AMONG OTHER PIECES OF WRITING AND VIDEO, STUDENTS WILL READ AND CO-LEAD DISCUSSIONS ON SILVIA FEDERICIS 2004 BOOK, CALIBAN AND THE WITCH, IN ADDITION TO WILLIAM SHAKESPEARES 1611 PLAY, THE TEMPEST.
Catalog Description:
Considers the notion of diversity from many scholarly perspectives and from personal engagements. Critically engages historical thinking about diversity and examines contemporary issues such as racism, sexism, and the cultural politics of difference.
