"THE ART OF WRITING" (W CREDIT) IN THIS COURSE STUDENTS WILL PRACTICE THE ART OF WRITING, EXPLORING DIFFERENT GENRES, AUDIENCES AND RHETORICAL APPROACHES. WE WILL READ WRITERS SUCH AS NAOMI KLEIN AND REBECCA SOLNIT ON POLITICAL AND ENVIRONMENTAL ADVOCACY AND ACTIVISM; DONNA HARAWAY, AS IN STAYING WITH THE TROUBLE: MAKING KIN IN THE CHTHULUCENE, ENJOYING CREATIVE THOUGHT AT THE EDGE OF ACADEMIC WRITING; AND TRADITIONAL ACADEMIC PROSE, IN SCHOLARLY ARTICLES FROM THINKERS SUCH AS DELELUZE, GUATTARI, AND OTHERS. READING AND WRITING "IN THE GENRE" OF VARIOUS AUTHORS, STUDENTS WILL PRACTICE THE CRAFT OF THINKING AND WRITING CREATIVELY, AND CLEARLY.
