WILL EXPLORE CONSTRUCTIVE
RESPONSES TO THE CRISIS THROUGH
ENGAGEMENT IN AGRICULTURE AND
POETRY. READING WORKS OF CARLO
PETRINI, WENDELL BERRY, JANE
BENNET, DONNA HARAWAY AND OTHERS,
WE WILL EXPLORE THE INTERSECTIONS
BETWEEN PERMACULTURE, SLOW FOOD,
AND POETRY, BETWEEN WORKING THE
LAND AND WORKING OUR OWN
LANGUAGE, TO IMAGINE
POSSIBILITIES OF CREATING MODES
OF BEING IN THE WORLD THAT MAY
HELP US NAVIGATE THE CRISIS. THE
CLASS WILL INCLUDE FIELD TRIPS TO
LOCAL URBAN AND RURAL FARMS, IN
SEATTLE AND THE OLYMPIC
PENINSULA.
