have worked with upland minority communities, in Southeast Asia for the last decade, first as a development practitioner and then as a consultant and researcher. I have received a B.Sc in Environmental Studies and and M.Sc in Resource conservation and I am currently a human geography PhD candidate. My research interests address issues within and between the political ecology of resource frontiers, rural livelihood change, deforestation, and forest degradation.
