Dr. Christina Wygant received her Ph.D. in English and Textual Studies with a certificate in Women Studies from the University of Washington in 2010. Her dissertation, titled “The Twice Told Tale”: Colonial Love Plots, Slavery, and Racial Ideology in Editorial Versions of John Gabriel Stedman’s Narrative of a Five Years Expedition Against the Revolted Negroes of Surinam received Honors. She has been teaching for the Comparative History of Ideas since 2004, teaches for the English Department and Honors Program, and is the Director for the CHID Munich Study Abroad Program. Most recently, Dr. Wygant is the recipient of the CHID Interdisciplinary Educator Award, the International Provost Grant, and the Textual Studies Research Grant.
