Are you a CHID student interested in equity, diversity and critical conversations on belonging, access and dignity? If so, consider applying for the CHID Equity Fellowship! The CHID Equity Fellow will work closely with the CHID Diversity Committee in the following ways:
- Participate in Staff & Faculty Diversity Committee meetings twice a quarter.
- Host a conversation and pizza lunch for CHID students each quarter around equity, race, diversity, inclusion and belonging issues.
- Share with the Diversity Committee student concerns and ideas around DEI issues.
- Attend at least one CHIDposium meeting (departmental gathering held usually once a quarter on Fridays from 1:30-3pm)
We see the Equity Fellow as an important liaison between the Diversity Committee and CHID students. This position not only offers a CHID student experience on a departmental committee, it's also a great way to build relationships with CHID staff and faculty. The CHID Equity Fellowship offers a $500 scholarship for the Fellow's time and contributions. Positions are for one academic year.
To apply, please send:
- A one-page interest letter telling us about yourself and why this position might be a good fit for you and the Diversity Committee, and;
- The name and contact details of one UW reference (this can be from an instructor or adviser).
Applications due by 5pm on Monday, January 17. Please send applications to Lenan Choto (lenan22@uw.edu) and include “CHID Equity Fellowship application” in the email subject line. We hope to hear from YOU!
