Each fall the UW has a one-hour welcoming ceremony for new students and their families called Freshman Convocation. It is a full academic ceremony attended by the President, regents, provost, deans from many of the schools and colleges, and faculty. The ceremony is meant to help introduce the new students and their families to the University and give them a glimpse into some of the opportunities that await them.
This year, one of the opportunities to be highlighted will be Dr. Mary Childs' and Dr. Walter Andrews' digital humanities project, NewBooks, and their website, the Georgian Digital Text Collective ( http://courses.washington.edu/dtcg/).
Freshman Convocation is Sunday, September 27, at 10:30 a.m., at Hec Edmundsons Pavilion.
