This group will slowly read through and discuss parts of a key text from Ludwig Wittgenstein, a unique philosopher with a performative writing style that greatly benefits from this approach.  Themes that are likely to emerge include the processes of ordinary language, the misunderstandings that emerge when linguistic abstractions are used to reify these processes, and process-based methods of humanities inquiry.

No prior experience with Wittgenstein or philosophy are necessary.  The requirements for credit are entirely based on participation--no written assignments are required.  Students may also attend informally without aiming for credit.

Meetings are Fridays from 11:30 am to 1:20 pm.
