Insights to Queer America

Student Name
Francis Rose Trail
Supervised by
Jen Self

This class takes an interdisciplinary, multicultural look at queer communities in America. Students will examine American queer cultures as juxtaposed to their own personal experiences and ask questions such as: How are we similar? How are we different? What does queerness look like in countries around the world? What does queerness look like where you come from? What does queerness look like where you want to go? Students will examine how we view lived experiences through power systems at play and the moments in which we take pride. Goal: Students engage in these conversations and questions in order to create just relationships with others and themselves through listening to and telling stories about their experiences.
