Biography

B.A., Comparative History of Ideas, University of Washington Seattle, forthcoming (~Spring 2013).

Born and raised a white male settler in the Pacific Northwest, I grew up occupying unceded Snohomish, Duwamish and Coast Salish territories. I have remained very dedicated to making the world a better place and I have consistently drawn inspiration from my own struggles as well as finding common cause with others. My experiences with the CHID program have greatly assisted me in understanding my own context in much greater depth and breadth. Before entering CHID I already undertstood that I did not understand, now I understand much more as to why I don't understand and a bit of how to begin understanding what I don't. Through engaging with historical and present day colonial conflicts, in epistemic and everyday realms, I find myself in a process of constant rearticulation. My life work is currently focusing on  alternatives to education and the job-market, as a means of healing/re-generating from deeply embdedded and continually re-inflicted societal and spiritual wounds. I am absoloutely fascinated with the process of exploring layers of reality that are disguised by the everyday and I get a lot of energy from imagining and actively articulating alternatives to the dominant discourse.
