Cynthia says,
"My experiences at UW in multiple positionalities — an undergrad, a classified staff, a study abroad instructor, and a graduate student– have brought me to where I am today continuing to connect across differences. I believe that education is not just about learning to ask questions that will move an idea forward but it’s also about being humble enough to listen and learn from other perspectives. This has led me to my exciting graduate research which is focused on how to build more equitable and inclusive spaces for People of Color in birthing practices and centering on culturally congruent care."

Cynthia will graduate with her Master's Degree in Cultural Studies from the School of Interdisciplinary Studies in June 2023

The Husky 100 recognizes 100 UW undergraduate and graduate students who are making the most of their time at the UW.
