One of the top scholars of our century, Deloria’s research, writings and teaching encompass history, law, religion and politics.  In this senior seminar we will read and analyze a sampling of his writings, beginning with six books and including articles and additional books for special projects. Class discussion will encompass the bulk of your evaluation.  Students will also lead class  discussions, write regular response papers and write a final analytical paper. This seminar is appropriate for upper division undergraduates and graduate students.  Some knowledge of Indigenous Studies is useful but not required.
