Update on CHID's Advisory Board

Submitted by Amy R. Peloff on

Founded in December 2014, the CHID Advisory Board (previously the CHID Alumni Board) currently holds six alumni positions and one current student position. The graduation years of the current members range from 1994 to 2014, and our academic passions and skillsets boast a range equally broad. While the mission statement is still being finalized, the Board’s current goals include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Develop and maintain professional and philanthropic relationships with CHID alumni and friends by creating and fostering gifts to the department’s scholarship, research, and discretionary funds
  • Plan and host alumni and student events for the CHID community, such as professional mentor panels and luncheons, quarterly alumni sessions, and annual celebrations
  • Creating or enhancing projects that work to fulfill the needs of current students and alumni

The Alumni Board is very excited to be announcing our activities in this newsletter. Please be on the lookout for more announcements as the Board develops and grows. Again, this Alumni Board is solely concerned with working with the CHID department to benefit current students and alumni and foster stronger relationships throughout the CHID community. We are therefore adhering to all of the same great CHID principles that you will recall from your time as a student. While the Board has many exciting things on the horizon, we ask that you first anticipate a quick survey coming your way soon. This survey is intended to help the Board orient its goals with the current needs of students and alumni.

If you would like to contact the Alumni Board with any questions, comments, or suggestions, you may do so by emailing chidalumni@gmail.com.
